Hi,
I was wondering whether I need to disable the built-in Joomla Newsfeed Component before / or when running your "Feed Portal" component? (or even uninstall it? - although I'm hesitant to go that far unless absolutely necessary...)

And are there any safety issues/vulnerabilities or perhaps other problems that can occur if users leave both components installed & enabled?

Feed Portal will not interfere with the default Joomla! News Feed component. However, it may interfere with some other 3rd Party feed reading extension. Typical indications when it will interefere are that the page never finishes loading, or shows just plain white space.

There is no security vulnerability in having multiple extensions of similar type. Only reason when you should disable one or the other is when they use variables with the same field name, or they call a common external file will is a part of both the extensions.
